Before:
Ken L.’s home in Chesterville, Maine had extremely elevated radon in water levels measuring 36,100 pCi/L, which required immediate mitigation. Additional water testing showed the presence of arsenic at 4.0 µg/L along with moderate hardness levels. While most other parameters were within safe ranges, the radon concentration in the well water posed a significant concern because radon can be released into the home’s air during normal water use.
After:
To solve the issue, we installed a 99% efficient Repco Cambridge radon-in-water system with a DAB DTRON 2 booster pump to safely remove radon gas from the water supply before it entered the home’s plumbing system. We also installed a 10" x 54" Evolve ES water softener equipped with SBG2-HP mineral anion resin to improve overall water quality and address additional treatment needs.
The finished installation created a complete water treatment solution that addressed both radon gas removal and water conditioning. The system was installed cleanly and configured for reliable long-term performance.
Another Chesterville, Maine home now has significantly safer water and improved indoor air protection thanks to a comprehensive water treatment system.
We utilized an existing sump pit and installed a sub sump depressurization system. This will allow for great communication
Before:
As part of a new Habitat for Humanity build, the home was in the construction phase and ready for a radon system to be planned correctly from the start. Coordinating early with the new build crew allowed us to determine the best path to route the system cleanly through the attic before final finishes were in place.
After:
We installed the radon system through the attic with the build team, ensuring it was properly positioned, efficient, and ready to protect the home long-term. The coordination made for a clean, seamless installation that fit perfectly into the new construction process.
We complete multiple radon systems for Habitat for Humanity each year, and this project was just one of many. We’re proud to work alongside an organization that’s committed to building safe, healthy homes for families in our community. We truly love working with them and their teams.
Maine Radon & Environmental was hired to install a radon remediation system in this Freeport Maine home. During there home inspection the radon gas levels were tested and elevated. MRE was able to design a system and guarantee results. Another happy client.
Before:
This Freeport, Maine home had a recent radon air test come back at 4.0 pCi/L. The basement already had a sump and ongoing water issues, and the homeowner was concerned that adding a radon mitigation system could worsen those problems. The layout near the electrical service for the hot tub did not allow enough space to run piping upward, which required a thoughtful and customized approach.
After:
We designed and installed a radon mitigation system that worked with the home’s existing conditions. The piping was routed in the same corner and exited to the right toward the outdoor stairs, avoiding the electrical service area. The fan was mounted on the gable wall next to the service, staying on the same plane for a clean exterior appearance.
A custom sump lid was installed in the opposing corner to properly seal the sump without interfering with existing water management. Power for the system was safely run from the laundry room, using the same access point created for the washing machine line, which kept the electrical run clean and discreet. All details were confirmed in advance with Jordan, and the installation was completed exactly as planned.
The finished system effectively addressed the radon concerns without creating additional water issues, leaving the homeowner with a safer, more secure basement and peace of mind.
