An at-home radon test was completed on 11/24/25, which showed elevated results and prompted further concern. The test materials directed the homeowner to seek professional testing, which led them to contact us.

After completing a continuous radon test, the confirmed reading came back at just under 8 pCi/L, reinforcing the need for mitigation. The homeowner reached back out on 12/03/25 to move forward with a permanent solution.

We installed a radon air mitigation system designed specifically for the home’s layout. The system was routed cleanly and exited through the right-side gable end, providing an effective and visually discreet installation. The mitigation successfully addressed the elevated radon levels and brought the home back within safe standards.

This radon mitigation project in Sanford, Maine was part of an active real estate transaction, so planning and timing were important. The client requested the system be installed on the right front corner of the home, where an outlet and sump lid were already in place. The client was not present at the time of installation, and access was coordinated through a lockbox, with the code provided prior to install.

At the planning stage, the client was unsure whether they wanted an interior pipe run. We were not able to visually confirm the interior chase ahead of time, but the client confirmed that the first-floor bedroom closet and second-floor bathroom closet aligned, providing a potential vertical pathway. There was also attic access with a pull-string light, which made attic work accessible.

After:
On installation day, everything came together smoothly. We jogged the pipe slightly toward the center of the home before completing the roof penetration, allowing for a clean and efficient run through the attic. The system was installed as planned, utilizing the existing outlet and properly integrating with the sump lid.

The final installation was clean, functional, and well-suited for the real estate timeline. The system performed exactly as intended, and the project worked out great for everyone involved.
